Biological Dentistry

We oppose the traditional “one size fits all” dental model and, instead, recognise that every patient is different and should be treated according to their specific needs.

Hello, I am Dr. Sebastien Lomas

Dentist

I am married to Dentistry as much as my beautiful wife!

Since my childhood, there has always been a strange magnetic pull toward the practice of Dentistry, and I have never understood why, but as my life journey evolves, the understanding becomes more apparent every day. I am firmly here to help remove the oral interferences and imbalances to the human organism which reflect/originate within the mouth.

What Does A Biological Dentist Do?

In general, we, as biological dentists, are advocates of minimally invasive dentistry. We seek to educate our patients and always use safe, biocompatible dental materials according to bespoke biocompatible blood and genetic testing. Our bodies have a natural capacity for self-correction when given the right conditions to heal. Simple changes in everyday habits and practices, such as the foods we consume, our oral posture, and the way we breathe, all have a huge impact on our dental and overall health.

Most modern diets are full of processed and refined foods that don’t provide the nutrients and are often too soft needed for full musculoskeletal facial development. We often breathe through our mouths, creating poor swallowing, chewing, and breathing. When our jaws don’t grow properly, this provides little room for our tongue, which can cause sleep-disordered breathing. This is such an important aspect for me and why I created the Adult Airway course both online and in person. I also offer the Homeoblock mentioned in James Nestor’s book ‘Breathe’.

So What Is Biological/Natural/Holistic Dentistry?

It’s the overlap of high-tech dentistry, integrative/functional medicine with biohacking to achieve optimum well-being. A biological dentist (holistic or natural dentist) operates according to our belief system that your oral health is fundamentally connected to your overall health and well-being. We understand that problems of the mouth can, and often do, reflect other areas of the human organism. The teeth help us function, eat and look pleasing to the eye, but that is only the beginning. This interconnectedness between everything in our bodies is exactly why the body must be looked at holistically, rather than as separate parts. As a biological dentist, Dr Seb looks for the connection between what’s going on in a patient’s mouth and their overall well-being.

Here are the offerings within this field of practice that my team offer

  • Sleep-disordered breathing evaluation to treat the root cause of TMD with airway stabilisation therapy

  • Orthopaedic Orthodontics with both children to maximise their genetic potential and adults to minimise their symptoms through their lack of genetic development

  • Metal-free biocompatible fillings

  • Metal-free biocompatible crowns, bridges and implants

  • Ozone-assisted dental treatment with plasma-rich growth factors when removing and cleaning infections both from teeth or within the jaw bone

  • Minimally invasive dental surgery with a LASER therapy

  • Genetic testing to tailor our advice and treatment

  • Biocompatibility blood analysis to understand sensitivities to dental materials

  • Nutrition and supplementation advice as per genetic testing to tailor natural detoxification pre, para and post-treatment

It is now becoming more widely accepted that infections in the mouth can lead to illness in other areas of the body. Oral health is a bidirectional indicator of the general health of the rest of the body.
