What implant system do you use?

We use Ceramic Implants from SDS

According to studies, Ceramic implants are the best alternative to the commonly used titanium implants, which can lead to intolerances and put metal strain on the organism. In terms of aesthetics, ceramic implants are also clearly ahead of titanium implants, where the gray of the implant often shines through. All-ceramic dentures are much less noticeable, even if your gums recede slightly.

This is the only implant system that we use at our clinic after much research.

What is a ceramic implant?

A ceramic implant is a type of dental implant made primarily from zirconium dioxide (zirconia), a highly biocompatible and durable material. Unlike traditional titanium implants, ceramic implants are metal-free, making them ideal for patients who prefer holistic or biological dentistry or who may have metal sensitivities or allergies.

Key characteristics of ceramic implants include:

  • High biocompatibility (minimal risk of allergic reactions).

  • Metal-free (no metallic ions released into the body).

  • Aesthetic advantages (white colour closely resembling natural teeth).

  • Low plaque affinity (less prone to bacterial colonisation).

What makes SDS implants different and why do we use them?

SDS (Swiss Dental Solutions) implants have several distinctive features compared to other ceramic implants:

Material and Biocompatibility

  • SDS implants are made from high-performance zirconia, optimised specifically for biocompatibility and strength.

  • They are completely metal-free, designed explicitly for patients seeking holistic and biological dental solutions.

Surface Technology

  • SDS implants feature a special surface treatment called Dynamic Thread® and Bioactive Surface, designed to accelerate bone integration, enhance soft tissue healing, and shorten overall healing times.

  • This surface increases osteoblast activity (bone-building cells), significantly improving the implant’s stability and longevity.

Biological and Holistic Focus

  • SDS implants are engineered not only for dental restoration but to support the patient's broader health. They follow principles of biological dentistry, ensuring minimal disturbance to the body's natural balance.

  • They specifically minimise inflammation, support optimal soft tissue health, and are commonly used by biological dentists who consider systemic health a priority.

Design Advantages

  • Unique, thread-shaped design with self-tapping and self-condensing properties, facilitating immediate stability and allowing minimally invasive procedures.

  • The design reduces the risk of peri-implantitis (gum inflammation around implants), thanks to improved soft-tissue attachment and bone health.

Healing and Aesthetic Outcomes

  • Faster healing due to superior integration and biological compatibility.

  • Optimal aesthetic outcomes due to the implant's natural tooth-like colour, ideal for front-tooth restorations where aesthetics are crucial.
